iPassLabs has implemented its MP1900A Optical Stress Receive System (OSRS)
It is pleased to announce that iPassLabs has implemented Anritsu MP1900A Optical Stress Receive System (OSRS) to provide an IEEE802.3 400G/800G-compliant validation environment.
iPassLabs will use this system to support customers in validating 400G/800GE optical transceiver modules and switches, conducting receiver sensitivity, jitter tolerance, and compliance validation, offering accurate receiver test solutions for the development of 800GE systems and components.
The Anritsu MP1900A Optical Stress Receive System incorporates front-end system calibration and jitter tolerance testing. It can automatically repeat calibration, providing stable and fast test results.
The key to this system setup - Signal Quality Analyzer MP1900A Series is a multi-channel Bit Error Rate (BER) tester. Its high-performance capabilities meet the comprehensive measurement needs for the R&D and design of next-generation network interfaces (e.g., 200/400/800G Ethernet) and high-speed bus interfaces (e.g., PCI Express 4.0/5.0, USB 3.2/4, and Thunderbolt).
The built-in Pulse Pattern Generator (PPG) delivers industry-leading high-quality waveforms (115 fs rms low intrinsic jitter), high sensitivity (15 mV) Error Detection Module (ED).
This instrument integrates jitter (SJ, RJ, SSC, BUJ) sources, CM-I/DM-I/White Noise sources, along with Link Training and Link Training State Machine (LTSSM) analysis functions to support various applications, covering conformance testing, margin testing, and troubleshooting.
Eric Shen, CEO of iPassLabs stated, “With the continuous development of high-speed signals and the rise of AI-related applications, the use of optical signal transmission has gradually expanded from high-speed Ethernet to high-speed serial signals such as PCIe, USB, etc. PCI-SIG has even established the Optical Cable Working Group this year (Y2023) to address the future needs of PCI Express in optical signal transmission. After iPassLabs evaluated the applications and demands of optical signal transmission testing, leveraging our past experience in digital high-speed interface testing, we decided to take a step ahead of industry predecessors by cooperating with Anritsu to provide signal integrity testing services in the field of optical signal testing, hoping to contribute to the development of the optical signal transmission industry.“
“The demand for 800G Ethernet testing has increased dramatically in recent years, but there has been a lack of accredited laboratories in the market to provide complete testing services," said Ivan Chen, General Manager of Anritsu Taiwan. “The implementation of the MP1900A OSRS testing system by iPassLabs fully meets customer needs, enabling faster, more accurate and efficient validation of Ethernet-related receiver performance, which will significantly accelerate the development of related industries.“
